"Nicos Weg" is a free online German language course produced by Deutsche Welle in cooperation with Germany's Federal Employment Agency. Deutsche Welle, shortened to DW, is a German public, state-owned international broadcaster. Their website has a section dedicated to providing free resources for German learners of all levels (CEFR A1 - C2) around the world. "Nicos Weg", their award-winning e-learning course, is equally suitable for complete beginners and more advanced learners. It is comprised of three courses (A1, A2 and B1) which follow the protagonist Nico Gonzalez’s adventures in Germany.

Elke cursus/niveau bevat ongeveer 2 uur aan videomateriaal, verdeeld in 76 korte afleveringen/lessen (videoclips van twee minuten) over verschillende onderwerpen en alledaagse situaties. In elke aflevering zijn er interactieve oefeningen om de taalvaardigheid te oefenen en te verbeteren. Aan het einde van elk niveau kunt u uw kennis controleren met de eindtest en uw certificaat ontvangen van Deutsche Welle.

Nico is a Spanish young man who has just dropped out of university and wants to visit his aunt in Germany. On arriving in Germany, he immediately loses his bag and his aunt's address. Fortunately, some locals offer to help.
